Essential Questions: What is paradox, juxtaposition, and oxymoron? How can I demonstrate paradox, juxtaposition, and oxymoron with imagery and in my writing? How do writers and artist use paradox, juxtaposition, and oxymoron to further the plot or create effects? How do I analyze a play such as Romeo and Juliet?

Journal entries should be completed for each act - some parts are broken down per scene. Each journal entry should include:
- record the major characters in each scene
- whenever a new character appears, write a brief description of how that character is characterized
- summarize what happens in each scene
- cite five examples of Shakespeare’s literary/poetry devices, including the motifs and explain them.
- write one comment and one prediction for each scene.
